Arm lift

The definitive solution for loose and sagging skin on your arms

About Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) Surgery

Excess skin and fat on the arms is hard to hide and can impact everyday activities like exercise and clothing choices. Regardless of the reason for excess arm skin; weight loss, genetics, age related changes, your arms will rarely ‘bounce back’ once these changes have occurred. External skin tightening treatments offer little in the way of a lasting change, so for many arm lift surgery is the solution.

Candidates

Men and women over 18 years of age with excess skin and/or skin and fat of the arms.

Areas Treated

The arms from armpit to elbow.

Before Surgery

It is important to be in good health and at a maintainable weight prior to surgery. If you are being treated for any chronic health condition, such as high blood pressure, we will require surgical clearance from your primary care physician prior to surgery. For surgeries requiring general anesthesia, a current EKG and basic blood work are also required. All of these precautions will contribute to a swift and uncomplicated free recovery.

Recovery

For the first two weeks following arm lift surgery you will need to limit your range of motion with your arms. It will be very helpful to plan for this prior to surgery by moving frequently used or necessary items to counter height for easy access. You will also have a weight lifting restriction so you may need to enlist help with some household chores such as vacuuming, laundry, and cleaning. Some arm lifts require surgical drains that will be in place for several days or up to one week.
